Oil is as critical to any war effort today as it was throughout both World Wars. Oil drives many facets of the modern military including vehicles and industry. For the purposes of the GFP ranking, oil consumption is applied as a bonus to each nation, the higher its production the better. Oil production is used in conjunction with oil consumption and proven oil reserves.
