Mortar systems come in a variety of calibers for indirect fire support. Mortars can be portable, crew-served weapons or vehicle-delivered types. For the purposes of the GFP ranking, mortar strength showcases distinct artillery firepower to complement that as offered by larger-caliber indirect/direct-fire self-propelled artillery systems.
